Blog

Welcome!

Welcome to my first ever personal website which is designed to promote not only my media and civil engineering interests and activities, including the promotion of Green Energy Conversion processes.  Through this site you are able to access the many articles and supplementary publications that have entered the media world via the Star Newspaper Group which is based in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and other publishing houses internationally.

I was born in the Royal County of Berkshire in the 1950's and I was the first born of a family which was to grow to include 5 further siblings. As my LinkedIn profile and my CV shows clearly, the majority of my working life has been spent within the Highways and Airport Surfacing industry and this led to my having the opportunity to travel to over 40 different countries and I have lived overseas too, most recently in Turkish Cyprus.

During 2009, I developed a weekly newspaper column in the Cyprus Star, a weekly national newspaper in Northern Cyprus with the tag line Green Line. This is partly an allusion to the line which permanently divides Cyprus and partly a play on the words which includes my surname and 'line' implying the writing of 'lines'.

I tend to specialise in Turkish and Eastern Mediterranean Political, Environmental & Regional Affairs and in particular, issues relating to the island of Cyprus and where I strongly support the Turkish Cypriot cause and my related columns are entirely supportive thereof. The newspaper is now a combined publication, comprising the Turkish Star and the Cyprus Star and is viewed in over 870 locations, courtesy of Turkish Airlines. The readership demography is of a very high quality and truly international.

In addition to my writing, which includes publishing via my Blogspot and the LinkedIN Network, I also work in my core sector, that of Asphalt Surfacing in a Business Development role. When I retire from the Civil Engineering industry, I shall continue to develop my writing which is already read in numerous countries around the world, particularly via the Blogspot which can be accessed via the home page.

I would welcome the opportunity to write for other newspaper titles on a freelance basis or indeed to ghost write books and novels.
